©2006 Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation

A world-class facility like the Boreal Centre for Bird Conservation could not exist without the support of other committed individuals and organizations. There are many ways to become involved:

Member
The most obvious way to share in our efforts is to become a member. Our members enjoy exclusive benefits in addition to knowing they are supporting the work of the BCBC.

Membership rates are as follows:
Individual $30
Group $60

To become a member, please print our membership application (143kb PDF) and mail it along with your payment or credit card information.

Volunteer
Since the BCBC started with a small group of volunteers with a big idea, volunteers hold a special place in our hearts. There are two key areas where volunteers currently play a role – in the banding lab and as Greeter Hosts at the front desk. As well, we are always open to new volunteer ideas. If this interests you, please contact us. All volunteers must have a current membership with the society and provide a criminal record check. To become a volunteer, please fill out our volunteer application form and email or mail it to us.

Donor
Occasionally our members or visitors may wish to make an additional financial contribution to our programs and services. These contributions will be used wherever most appropriate and are greatly appreciated. Donations can be made in person at the BCBC or mailed here.

Partner
Partners are businesses and other organizations which make a financial or gift-in-kind contribution to a specific initiative, such as a special event, either on a one time or recurring basis.

Partnerships are very important to the work of the BCBC and can be as big or as small as the partner desires, with no long-term commitment required beyond the specific initiative. To inquire about becoming a partner, please contact us.

Sponsor
Sponsors are integral to the long-term development and operations of the BCBC. Sponsors may provide any of the following on an ongoing basis: long-term funding, gifts-in-kind, personnel, access to private resources and expertise, and ideas, as well as representatives to sit on various committees. Sponsors make a significant commitment of time and resources, and also reap major benefits in terms of achievement, satisfaction, recognition and awareness.

Currently there are two sponsors of the BCBC – the Lesser Slave Lake Bird Observatory and the Government of Alberta.

Organizations interested in becoming a sponsor should contact us at (780) 849-8240 or by email.
